The Chase Bays inBay OEMC (in engine bay / OEM Master Cylinder) Brake Line Relocation is for the enthusiast who wants to eliminate engine bay clutter, improve aesthetics, and eliminate delete ABS. The OEM brake hard lines are replaced and relocated with -3AN Stainless Steel, Teflon PTFE lined, black PVC coated lines. We have added in our Adjustable Bias Valve to change the ratio of braking from front to rear. Front always gets 100% braking and is modulated by pedal force. The rear has the capability to be adjusted up to 57%. If the knob is adjusted all the way out, the rear is 57% less than the front pressure. All the way in is 100% pressure.
The Brake Line Relocation replaces all of the engine bay hard lines up to the lines in the fenderwell. It does not include the fender well to caliper lines. There are 2 outlets on the master cylinder, the farthest forward is dedicated to the front 2 calipers, the farthest rearward is for the rear 2 calipers. Makes sense right? In the spirit of simplicity we tee the front lines off directly from the master cylinder output. So instead of 1 line exiting the master cylinder and teeing off into 2, making 3 lines total, our tee is directly on the master cylinder. That tiny change makes for 2 lines instead of 3 and greatly simplifies the install and look.
For the rear, a line exits the master cylinder and enters the Bias Valve. We designed a bracket that attaches to the Bias Valve to mount directly on the master cylinder nut (the one closer to LHD driver side). This further minimizes the look and installation of this kit. From there a hose goes across the engine bay and onto our clever designed "F Fitting". In the passenger fenderwell where the rear brake lines are adapted, we supply 2 female to male adapters to convert the metric fittings to AN. Then we use the F Fitting to make 2 lines one, which will then run to the aforementioned line coming from our Bias Valve.
There are 4 terms you should familiarize yourself with when deciding which Brake Line Relocation is right for you.
OEMC - OEM Master Cylinder
BBE - Brake Booster Eliminator
inBay - All brake lines and the adjustable proportioning valve are installed in engine bay. They are routed more stealthily than OEM for improved aesthetics. Driver to passenger side line(s) route low on the firewall or under the engine along the subframe or sway bar. The inBay kit is easier to install than the inInterior kit.
inInterior – The majority of the brake lines along with the adjustable proportioning valve are relocated to the interior behind the firewall. The lines pass through the firewall using AN bulkheads. Depending on the chassis and MC used, only 1 or 2 lines are visible in the engine bay, resulting in a stealthy and aesthetically pleasing appearance. Installation requires minimal drilling into the firewall along with the fender well. On most chassis, dash removal is recommended to simplify interior-side drilling and line routing.
