AAM Competition 3” High Flow Catted Downpipes for the Nissan GT-R are constructed and TIG-Welded here in-house at AAM from heavy-duty US sourced T304 16 Gauge polished stainless steel. The catalytic converters feature full metallic 200 cell count cores wrapped in stainless steel. Flanges are cnc or laser cut and planed after construction to ensure a level mating surface. We took our time developing these cats to ensure perfect fitment – and keeping the manufacturing in-house ensures perfect fitment for each and every set.

From a design standpoint, the theory was simple: with a turbocharged vehicle power gains through exhaust flow is a basic concept - get the exhaust gases out as quickly as possible. The result is a noticeable power gain across the entire rpm range as well as the ability to support additional peak power. The low cell count provides just enough back pressure to help out low-end grunt but flows enough not to hinder overall power output. Not only will our catted downpipes allow you to max out the power potential of your stock turbochargers, they are also emissions friendly. This means NO CEL, NO SMELL and less overall drone.

Some catted downpipes available simply do not flow. On cars running upgraded turbochargers, we’ve seen increases of 40whp by simply switching to our 3” Catted Downpipes over other manufacturers (same dyno, same day with the same conditions).

In fact, our 3” High Flow Catted Donwpipes flow so much we’ve been able to make over 700AWHP on a GT-R equipped with our GT800-R Turbocharger Upgrade.
