Tomei began operations in 1968 as a race car tuner in Japan. Over the last 40 years Japan has emerged as one of the leaders in automotive research, racing, and culture. Tomei products have been utilized in nearly every motor sport imaginable. Tomei’s racing heritage means their research and design team have first hand knowledge of the extreme demands racing puts on an engine. Using only the highest quality materials means that Tomei’s products can handle the intense strain and heat a purpose built engine will experience whether it be on the street or the track. Tomei’s attention to detail is second to none. All of their products are thoroughly researched and engineered to achieve optimal efficiency. Because of even miniscule differences in measurements can cause catastrophic engine failure, all Tomei products fall within strict tolerances. Tomei machines all of their engine components to enhance airflow and ensure proper fitment and seal.
Even to this day, TOMEI is listening to what our devoted SR user's requests. So the people at TOMEI have invested additional time and funds into thier continued efforts with R&D on the SR20 engine. All to improve torque, response, and durable power for drivability in order to extract outstanding performance at an affordable range that is within everyone's budgets. With the lastest in their turbo developments, TOMEI have made various designs changes. From the housings to the actuators, to the turbine blades, everything! All this from several master prototypes with added variations.
The M7960 Turbine kit is designed for low to mid range torque characteristics. The response is immediate with the light use of the throttle. Max boost is achieved at 4000 RPM. Best suited for street turned cars and weekend track machines. Great for drifting and track applications with fun driving characteristics
This is a Full Kit and includes everything that is needed for a bolt on install, including piping, hoses, fittings etc.
S14 SR Upgrade
Posted by Jonathan on
My stock t28 blew up on my S14 sr. So I used that as an excuse to upgrade to this turbine. Install was easy. Comes with everything to upgrade.
I'm running this turbine with a front mount and a Tial Q. All other parts are stock like the fuel rail, fpr, injectors, maf, exhaust manifold and ecu. Boost kicks in around 3000 and peaks at 4000 while staying there until redline. With a proper setup and a better flowing manifold I'd bet lag would really be reduced. At gate pressure AFR's remain safe and stockish(although a hair more lean). I plan on getting 750's, z32 maf, aem fpr, and either an enthalpy rom or power fc. 10/10 in my book.
